This seminar comprises of 2 mini-talks. Professor Dr Uwe Wilkesmann will deliver “Study motivation: The case of (PhD) students in Germany" and Professor Dr Maximiliane Wilkesmann will deliver “Navigating AI Uncertainty in Higher Education”. Together, this seminar will explore the intersection of study motivation and AI uncertainty in higher education. The first talk examines how Self-Determination Theory's core concepts impact the motivation of PhD students and those at private institutions. The second talk addresses the challenges posed by AI integration, emphasising the need for critical oversight, continuous learning, and curriculum reform to navigate the uncertainties and harness the potential of AI in academic settings.

 Colleagues may come to meet the visitors and explore collaboration with TU Dortmund, Germany.

Professor Dr Uwe Wilkesmann holds the Chair of Organizational Studies and Management of Continuing Education at the Center for Higher Education (zhb) at the TU Dortmund University and is the Director of the zhb

 

Professor Dr Maximiliane Wilkesmann is the Heisenberg Professor of Sociology of Work and Organization at the Department of Social Sciences of the TU Dortmund University.
