Grounding mobile and e-learning in sound curriculum design and alignment of learning outcomes to assessment and learning objects has transformed the student experience at the Higher Colleges of Technology in the UAE. Where such projects have not fully delivered in the past, this new approach to transformational change management skills ensured full adoption and engagement in a complex distributed campus environment to achieve a number of strategic pedagogical objectives:
· greater student engagement of students, through interactive, varied and focused content
· enhanced blended learning, encouraging a “flipped classroom” with a large proportion of knowledge acquisition and learning taking place outside the classroom
· facilitate mobile learning (from Blackboard to publishers’ environments) reliably on to ANY mobile device.
If you are interested in mobile learning, flipped classrooms, integration of leading publishers with Blackboard and innovative curriculum design for outcome based learning please come along to our workshop. You will have the chance to share in discussions with Nick to see if his approach can work at PolyU.
