MOOC stands for Massive Open Online Courses. Originated in Canada in 2009, MOOC adoption worldwide is expanding rapidly. This seminar will provide an opportunity for speakers and participants to collaboratively explore the rapidly expanding ecosystem of MOOCs. We will foster a cross-institutional and transnational dialogue in order to articulate and synthesize the plurality of challenges that arise when considering the institutional and curriculum imperatives in designing MOOCs. While the forms, business models, and functions of MOOCs are still evolving, this seminar aims to provide an opportunity for participants to identify key aspects when designing a MOOC specific to their institutional contexts. Also shared will be PolyU’s own journey to MOOC.

*This seminar is co-organized by EDC, KMIRC and CoP on ‘Using Blackboard LMS to Enhance Learning and Teaching’.
