Explore how to integrate online synchronous and asynchronous activities and build community and interaction.
The CoI framework (Garrison et al., 2000) represents a process of creating a deep and meaningful learning online experience through the development of three elements: social, cognitive and teaching presence. In this session, you will apply the framework to your blended teaching.
By the end of this session you will be able to: - Explain the importance of social, cognitive and teaching presence in designing and facilitating effective blended learning
- Use the CoI framework to select appropriate tools for effective blended learning
- Use the CoI framework to design activities that support interaction at different stages of a blended online lecture or tutorial.
