Engaging Students as Partners in Learning: Examples and Experiences from The University of British Columbia (UBC)
During
this session, Dr Bates will share some of the programmes and activities that
foster the philosophy of students as partners in their learning experience,
from two different vantage points. Firstly, he will discuss some of the
programmes and initiatives that have been created at UBC to support this work,
such as grant funding schemes. Secondly, he will share some ideas of how he
implemented SSP as an educator in the classes he has taught. Practical
approaches and lessons learned at both the individual and institutional levels
will be highlighted.
