Beginning with a recap of the PolyU data governance framework which outlines how data is being classified and their intended purposes, through a dialog style, the presenter will illustrate the importance of adopting a structure or standard for long term data preservation which, among other things, enhances resilience of data to project and personnel changes. As a result of such data management activities, collected data can be readily retrieved and used in other projects worldwide even if these projects span more than a decade apart. Tips on how to expedite and future-proof such efforts will also be discussed.
